Real ceramic tint.
Real Texas heat block.

San Antonio summers don't care about dyed film. ShineLab installs true nanoceramic tint: up to 70% IR heat block, 99% UV rejection, zero signal interference. Lifetime warranty. From $399.

Why Ceramic

Texas heat is
the real test.

On a 100° San Antonio afternoon, your dashboard hits 180°F. Dyed tint blocks light but barely any heat. It fades, turns purple after a few summers, and runs your A/C into the ground.

Ceramic tint is different. It uses non-conductive ceramic nanoparticles that reflect infrared energy before it ever enters the cabin. Your A/C does less work. Your interior fades less. Your phone, key fob, and GPS all keep working perfectly. And it never turns purple.

How Tint Percentage Works

Understanding
VLT for Texas.

Window tint is measured in Visible Light Transmission, the percentage of light that passes through. Lower number = darker tint. Texas has specific legal limits on front windows; rear glass is more permissive.

70% VLT

Nearly clear. Best for windshields where Texas law restricts heavy tint. Blocks heat and UV without changing the look of the glass.

35% VLT

The legal sweet spot for front side windows in Texas (must stay ≥25%). Noticeable shade, dramatic heat reduction.

20% & below

Common for rear windows on SUVs and trucks. Maximum privacy and heat block. Not legal on front side windows.

Texas legal summary: Front side windows must be ≥25% VLT. A 5-inch sun strip is allowed on windshields. Multi-purpose vehicles (SUVs/trucks/vans) may have any darkness on rear side and back windows. Reflectivity must stay under 25%. ShineLab installs only legal-compliant tint unless an exemption is requested in writing.

The Install

From spec to
fully cured.

01

Spec & VLT Selection

We discuss heat priorities, look, and Texas legal limits. You see live tint samples on your own vehicle before any film is cut.

02

Prep & Glass Cleaning

Every window is decontaminated and dust-controlled to prevent bubbles or contamination under the film.

03

Computer-Cut Film

Film is pre-cut to your exact glass profile by computer. No blades on glass, no rubber-trim damage.

04

Heat-Shrink & Install

Each panel is heat-shrunk and squeegeed to a glass-smooth fit. Edges sealed and inspected under lighting.

05

Cure Window

Avoid rolling windows down for 3 to 5 days. A small haze for the first 1–2 weeks is normal and clears as adhesive cures.

FAQ

Tint questions,
answered.

What's the legal tint limit in Texas?

Front side windows must be ≥25% VLT. A 5-inch sun strip is allowed on windshields. Multi-purpose vehicles (SUVs, vans, trucks) may have any darkness on rear side and back glass. Reflectivity must stay under 25%. We install legal-compliant tint by default.

Ceramic vs. dyed — does it really matter?

In Texas, yes. Dyed film blocks light but barely any heat, fades, and turns purple within a few summers. Ceramic uses nanoceramic particles to reflect infrared heat, up to 70% IR rejection, and never fades or shifts color. For our climate, ceramic is the only film worth installing.

How much does ceramic tint cost?

Sedans start at $399, SUVs at $549, trucks and Teslas at $599. Final pricing depends on glass count, model, and shade selected. Tesla glass roof tint and front windshield film are available as add-ons.

Will tint hurt my cell signal or GPS?

No. Ceramic tint is non-conductive (unlike old metallic tints) and does not interfere with cell, GPS, key fobs, satellite radio, or tire-pressure sensors.

How long does the install take?

Sedans run 2.5 to 3 hours. SUVs and trucks run 3 to 4 hours. We install mobile or at your home, and you get the car back the same day.

Do you tint Tesla glass roofs?

Yes. The factory Tesla 3 and Y glass roof is a major Texas heat liability. We install ceramic film cut precisely for the roof glass profile, blocking up to 70% IR with no signal interference. Bundled with a full-vehicle tint, it's one of the highest-ROI upgrades on a Tesla.

Can you remove old, bubbled tint?

Yes. Tint removal runs $99 to $179 depending on glass count and how aged the existing film is. Bundle removal with a fresh install for $50 off.

Cleaner look.
